Stafford School Board approves redistricting plan
The Stafford County School Board tonight approved a redistricting plan to relieve overcrowding at Hartwood and Rocky Run elementary schools.
The plan sends 75 students from Rocky Run to Ferry Farm Elementary School; 53 students from Rocky Run to Margaret Brent Elementary School; and 57 students from Hartwood to Margaret Brent.
You can check out the plan here.
The School Board approved the plan after a public hearing at which four people spoke.
The School Board has not decided whether it will allow rising fifth-graders to stay at their current schools. Rocky Run has 28 of them, and Hartwood has 11.
The School Board will discuss that issue—and whether it would provide transportation for rising fifth-graders if it allowed them to stay at their current schools—at a meeting Tuesday.
