New redistricting options for Stafford schools

At a work session earlier today, Stafford County schools Chief Facilities Officer Scott Horan presented new redistricting options to relieve overcrowding at Hartwood and Rocky Run elementary schools. You can read them here and here. 

After his presentation, the School Board asked Horan to eliminate options C and D from consideration. At a meeting tonight, several Hartwood Elementary parents and one student spoke against the new proposals.

Horan came up with them after the School Board asked him to scale back proposals from a redistricting committee. Those options involved nine elementary schools.

The School Board is scheduled to have another work session on redistricting Tuesday at 4 p.m.
