Stafford Middle to be K-8 school next year

The Stafford County school system will have a kindergarten through eighth-grade school starting next fall.

The School Board unanimously voted tonight to move elementary students to Stafford Middle School during renovations to their buildings. In all, five elementary schools expect to hold classes at Stafford Middle over the next six years.

It will be the division’s only K–8 school. Stafford Middle, which is on Courthouse Road, is currently at less than half capacity.

Falmouth Elementary students will attend Stafford Middle next school year. Stafford Elementary will move there in 2012–13; Grafton Village Elementary in 2013–14; Moncure Elementary in 2014–15; and Ferry Farm Elementary in 2015–16.
