Stafford schools delay SOLs

The Stafford County school system has pushed back the writing Standards of Learning tests to March 15-17. The state Department of Education announced last week it would allow divisions to delay the tests because of this year’s snow days.

Here is Stafford’s news release:

Stafford County Schools announces that the spring 2010 SOL (Standards of Learning) writing dates have been changed from March 1-3, 2010, to March 15-17, 2010. Stafford schools will administer the multiple choice component of the Writing SOL on March 15, 2010, or March 16, 2010. The writing prompt (short paper) will be administered division-wide to all students in grades 5, and 8, and for the high school end-of-course on March 17, 2010. Make-ups will be administered on March 18-19, 2010.

Questions regarding Standards of Learning testing may be directed to Margaret Barco, Supervisor of Testing Services, at 540/658-6000.
