Stafford schools closed again Tuesday

At its meeting Monday night, the Stafford County School Board decided to close school again today. Superintendent David Sawyer said earlier that "the probability is high we will have a two-hour delay." But the School Board told administrators to cancel Tuesday’s classes after hearing that some buses won’t be able to cover every stop due to the existing snow. Board members didn’t think they’d be able to give parents proper notice about the limited bus service, even with a delay.  Students should expect to return to school on Wednesday.

The school system posted this notice at staffordschools.net:

When school resumes, standard school bus transportation in some neighborhoods may be impacted by the snow. Some buses will be unable to navigate their standard routes, particularly side streets and cul-de-sacs. It is important that parents/guardians inspect road and bus stop conditions. Children may need to catch the bus at a nearby street corner. All questions should be directed to the Department of Pupil Transportation at (540) 373-6095.

The roads were so icy this morning in South Stafford that my husband turned around and came home on his way to the VRE. Although the roads in and around our subdivision were clear before this morning’s snow, I noticed over the weekend that the subdivisions like Stafford Lakes off of Village Parkway behind the new Walmart were in terrible condition. I’m talking 3-4 inches of packed down ice and snow from last week’s storms. The schools made the right decision to shut down.

I drove my wife to work this morning in Fredericksburg, and it was horrible. Traffic was moving at 10-15 mph on Lafayette Boulevard. It was a good call, however, is the school board looking for a miracle? They stated the reason for closing is that bus stops are not accessible, yet students should be prepared to attend school on Wednesday. What’s going to happen today, that the stops will be accessible tomorrow?

If you’re in not good state and have no money to move out from that, you will need to take the personal loans. Just because that would help you emphatically. I get consolidation loans every year and feel OK because of this.
