Ladysmith Day draws 4,500
UPDATE: The meeting will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
Ladysmith’s annual spring festival drew an estimated 4,500 people Saturday, festival organizers said.
That’s about the same number as last year, said Frank Hammon, president of Ladysmith Day II, Inc.
The headlining music act was former wrestler and country music artist Mickie James, who performed Saturday afternoon.
He said for the first time, they noticed more people gathered in front of the stage when James played.
Hammon said planning for next year’s event starts May 14 and anyone who lives in the Ladysmith area or has a business there is welcome to attend the meeting and join the committee. The committee is made up of all the volunteers who put the festival on.
The meeting will be at 3:30 p.m. at the Century 21 Classic Real Estate office on U.S. 1 in Caroline County.
