Bridge on Route 625 reopened
A bridge on Route 625, Passing Road, has been re-opened by the Virginia Department of Transportation.
The bridge is near the Caroline and King and Queen county line. The three ton weight limit has been lifted.
Steel beams and a timber deck have been installed on the bridge and a new railing has been added.
Before the project, the bridge was structurally deficient and had a weight limit of three tons.
About 48 vehicles per day cross the bridge, originally built in 1948, according to VDOT.
