Here’s what’s going on in Caroline County next week, in regard to road work. The following information is from the weekly Virginia Department of Transportation report.
The following bridges will be inspected this week. Motorists should expect lane closures and brief delays in the work zone.
Monday – Thursday (9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. I-95 bridges - between mile marker 107 located just north of Exit 104 (Rt. 207/Carmel Church) and mile marker 111 located just north of Exit 110 (Rt. 639/Ladysmith).
Friday (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.)
- Route 639 - bridge over I-95
- Route 601 – bridge over I-95
- Route 652 – bridge over I-95
Route 639 Widening
Route 639 is being widened creating a left new left turn lane near the Route 1 intersection. During construction the posted speed limit will be lowered to 35 mph in the work zone. One lane will remain open in each direction during construction. Motorists should be alert to changes in traffic patterns in this area. The project completion date is May 2015.
