The holiday season is in full swing in Caroline County.

Port Royal will hold its annual community holiday party and tree lighting Friday night. The party will start at 5 p.m in the Port Royal Volunteer Fire Department’s community room. Immediately following, at 6 p.m., will be the community tree lighting.

Bowling Green will host “Frosty’s Hometown Parade” at 5 p.m. Saturday. It will proceed south on Main Street, turning left at Chase street, and proceeding to Town Hall.

There will be more than  50 floats, plus marching  bands, fire trucks, tractor–trailers decorated for  Christmas. Restaurants will be open with holiday specials, and  stores will compete for best  window display and best  Christmas tree, with trees  donated from a local tree  farm for the occasion.
