Caroline High School athletic trainer wins national contest
Caroline High School’s head athletic trainer won a national contest from SportsHealth, a retailer of athletic and exercise equipment and rehabilitation supplies.
The contest asked athletic trainers at schools to upload a photo to the company’s Facebook page depicting a day in the life of an athletic trainer.
The winner would get $2,500, second place would get $750 and a third winner would get $2,500 for being the best photo to represent the contest. The winners were determined by the number of votes each photo received.
Lane Catlett, the school’s athletic trainer, who entered the contest, said that they won first place, with 6,300 votes. That’s more than double the second place photo got, he said, which had 3,100 votes.
“The community and students were the reason behind this!” he said in an email.
The contest ran from April through August.
In addition to the prize money, the photo will be in an upcoming issue SportsHealth’s magazine.
Catlett said he would use the money to purchase rehabilitative equipment for the students.
