Get rid of old pills Saturday
The Caroline County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration will take old pills Saturday for disposal.
The initiative is to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding homes of potentially dangerous, expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs, according to the sheriff’s office.
Bring medications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to the entrance of the Bowling Green Food Lion, 15432 Rogers Clark Blvd or to Ladysmith Medical Center, 18020 Jefferson Davis Highway in Ruther Glen, also from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
During the spring event, Americans turned in over 200 tons of prescription drugs at over 5,000 sites operated by the DEA and more than 3,000 state and local law enforcement partners, according to the sheriff’s office.
