VDOT updates for Caroline this week

Interstate-95 Northbound

(Update) Sunday–Thursday, 9 p.m. – 5 a.m.; paving work continues on I-95 north

between mile marker 108 and mile marker 110. This work zone is located between Exit

104 (Route 207/Carmel Church) and Exit 110 (Route 639/Ladysmith). To avoid delays,

motorists may exit northbound I-95 at Exit 104 to access Route 1 as an alternate route.

This paving operation will continue through mid-October.

Interstate 95 overpass at Paige Road

(New) Monday – Tuesday, 6 p.m. – 6 a.m.; one lane will be closed on I-95 north and

south at the Paige Road overpass located at mile marker 115. Crews will be installing a

debris shield under the Route 605 bridge over I-95. The debris containment system is

being installed in connection the upcoming Rt. 605 bridge deck patching project.

Motorists should also expect brief delays on Paige Road at the bridge over I-95. The

bridge is located between Exit 110 (Rt. 639/Ladysmith) and Exit 118 (Rt.606/Thornburg) on I-95 in Caroline County.

Route 605 (Paige Road)

(New) Wednesday – Thursday, 6 p.m. – 6 a.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane

on Paige Road at the bridge over I-95. Crews will be patching the bridge deck.

Route 606

(Update) Monday – Tuesday, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.; crews will be re-striping the pavement on 

Route 606 east between the Caroline/Spotsylvania County line to Route 2. This will be a 

mobile operation and motorists are encouraged not to pass the slow moving vehicles in 

the work zone.

Route 600 (Frog Level Road)

Boot Swamp bridge replacement project is underway. Motorists will be restricted to one

lane on the Route 600 bridge. Estimated completion date is summer 2014.
