Therapist charged with sexual battery of juvenile patient
By PORTSIA SMITH
A licensed therapist with the Rappahannock Area Community Services Board is charged with aggravated sexual battery of a juvenile patient.
According to Caroline County Sheriff Tony Lippa, 67-year-old Scott Gordon Henry of Henrico County was arrested Monday after Caroline investigators received information that Henry was allegedly involved in inappropriate sexual activity with a juvenile patient of the Rappahannock Area Community Services Board.
Lippa said that a guardian reported to police that the alleged offense occured between 2003 and 2004 when the victim was 6 years old. The guardian reported that things were said by the victim during a conversation that led the guardian to believe something inappropriate happened, Lippa said.
After an investigation and interrogation, Lippa said Henry was arrested in Caroline without incident. He is being held at Pamunkey Regional Jail without bond.
A statement from Rappahannock Area Community Services Board Executive Director Ronald Branscome confirmed that Henry has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
Lippa said investigators feel there may be more victims related to this case. He said if anyone has any information about this case or if people think they may be victims, they are asked to call the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office immediately.
Victims can call Investigator Kristel DiGravio directly at 804/633-8064 or Crime Victim/Witness Advocate Cindy Gatewood at 804/633-8037.
