Ladysmith has a day.
Frog Level has a parade.
Bowling Green has a harvest festival, Christmas parade and just about every other big event in Caroline.
But what about Milford?
Well, tomorrow is Milford Day.
Held on the third Saturday of September, Milford Day is the highlight of the small Caroline County community that you don’t hear that much about.
Milford Community Day was the idea of former Milford Presbyterian Church pastor Rev. Walter Winegar. The first one was held in 1999 on the church grounds, on the corner of Church and Blatt Street, where an estimated 300 people attended.
Saturday’s event is from 9 a.m. to 3 .m. at the church and features local food and music, bake sale, yard sale, the Bowling Green Farmer’s Market and children’s activities.
Community members as well as local fire, rescue, animal control and the sheriff’s office will participate. Artwork auctions are often held to benefit Milford Presbyterian Church.
