Mass arrests made in Caroline drug raid
Two dozen people were arrested this week as a result of Operation Impact, an undercover drug investigation by the Narcotics unit of the Caroline County Sheriff’s office.
Sheriff Tony Lippa said 32 people are facing 94 charges ranging from distribution of prescription pills to cocaine, heroin and marijuana.
Arrests teams were deployed around 4 a.m. Thursday morning to conduct mass arrests throughout the county, Lippa said.
The following people were arrested within the Four Winds resort community in the Rappahannock Academy area of Caroline related to the illegal sale of prescription pills and marijuana:
Edward Eugene Cox Jr., 48; Teresa Newton, 52; Heather Jean Larossa, 45; Mary Ridley Pike, 66, David “Davie” Jones Jr., 38; Lynn Denise Rowan, 37; Richard Shane Riggleman, 43; Ross Julian Pollitt, 49; Jason Michael Bisser, 26; and Jacqueline A. Mitchell, 27.
Others arrested include:
Ruther Glen residents Timothy Vernon Morris, 48 on two counts of distributing cocaine; Justin Michael Leslie, 19, on four counts of distributing marijuana; Antoine Jermaine Johnson, 30, on one count of distributing marijuana; Lisa Michele Tony, 27, on three counts of distributing heroin and prescription pills; Vanessa Sanders-Johnson, 49, on three counts of distributing prescription pills; and Jessie Briscoe Beverly Jr., 20, on three count of distributing marijuana.
Woodford residents Laura Ellen Valdez, 62, on two counts of distributing prescription pills; Edward “Booby” Childs, 33 on one count of distribuing marijuana; Billy Joel Jolin, 44, on one count of distributing prescription pills; and Michael Wayne Murphy, 42, on three counts of distributing marijuana and prescription pills.
William Paschall, 59, of Leavells Road in Fredericksburg was arrested in Pittsylvania County early Friday morning.
On Monday, the Tri-County Drug Taskforce, which consists of deputies from Caroline, Westmoreland and King George sheriff’s offices, the Virginia State Police and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, executed a search warrant at a home in Caroline Pines subdivision in Ruther Glen, Lippa said.
Robert and Deborah Stead were arrested and charged with distributing marijuana and prescription pills.
On Wednesday, Lippa said Caroline investigators assisted by the State Police executed a search warrant at a home in Milford where they arrested and charged 28-year-old David Swisher on three counts of third offense distribution of cocaine.
“This operation has been ongoing for nearly two years and has resulted in the arrests of more than 70 suspects at this point,” he said. “Investigators have seized large amounts of marijuana, prescription pills, ecstasy, cocaine and heroin during this operation.”
Lippa said more arrests are expected as a result of this operation.
