Bomb squad dispatched to Caroline

Police are investigating who is responsible for bottle bombs that damaged two mailboxes in Caroline County.
Around 8:20 a.m. Sunday, Virginia State Police bomb technicians responded to the 10000 block of Sunshine School Road to assist the Caroline sheriff’s office concerning suspicious damage to two mailboxes, said State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller.
Geller said two devices were discovered inside the mailboxes and seized by agents as evidence.
“The investigation revealed the two bottles had ruptured, causing minimal damage to the mailboxes,” she said.
The joint investigation is ongoing, she said.

A bomb squad has been dispatched to a location in Caroline County.
According to police, a suspect “placed chemical type in two mail boxes” along Sunshine School Road in the Woodford area.
No one was hurt and no one has been arrested, police said.
The Virginia State Police and Caroline County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the case.
