Caroline hires new top chief
Caroline County is getting a new top chief.
Charles”Charlie” M. Culley, Jr. was introduced by the board of supervisors Tuesday night as the new County Administrator. He will start in that position on May 1.
Culley, 51, has served as county administrator in Middlesex County for the past 18 years. Prior to that, he was the zoning administrator/planning director in King and Queen County.
“I’m excited to be coming to Caroline County and I look forward to the opportunity here,” he said.
Culley replaces longtime county administrator Percy Ashcraft, who resigned last March to take a similar job in Prince George County.
Assistant County Administrator Alan Partin has filled in as interim County administrator since his departure.
