Who’s performing at the state fair this year…?
The State Fair of Virginia has announced its concert lineup for 2011.
Some of the performers include country trio The Band Perry, soul singer Percy Sledge, country artists Tracy Lawrence and Lee Brice, high-energy cover band Casper and southern rock group Marshall Tucker Band.
The Band Perry, closing out the fair on Oct. 9, is known for their hits “You Lie” and “If I Die Young,” which reached No. 1 on the country charts and won the group of siblings a Grammy for best country song this year.
Sledge, best known for his hit song “When a Man Loves a Woman,” will perform on Oct. 1.
There will also be a Gospel Praise show on Oct. 2, according to the fair’s Web site.
The concerts will be on Festival Stage at the State Fair’s Meadows Event Park, a 350-acre site off State Route 30 in Caroline County.
Tickets for the State Fair will go on sale later this month and can be purchased at the Caroline Visitors Center, among other places.
Gate tickets will range from $7 to $15, depending on when fairgoers attend. Concert admission is included in that price.
