Caroline school staff getting bonuses and raises

The following e-mail was sent out to all Caroline County School staff this morning:

Good Morning,

As a means of keeping you informed, the Caroline County School Board held a special called meeting this morning to approve the 2011-12 School Budget.   Due to the hard work of the staff through being conservative and  tightening of the belts, we were able to save enough money to provide a $500 bonus for each employee, which you will receive before June 30, 2011.

Secondly, last night, the Board of Supervisors approved an increase of an additional $500,000 to the School Board’s budget, and with this additional money the School Board also approved giving teachers and administrators a 1% raise, and classified employees a 2.5% raise for the 2011-12 school year.

Thank you for all you do for the children of Caroline County, and I hope you have a restful and enjoyable summer.
