Shortly after 8:00 a.m. this morning, June 10, Virginia State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Interstate 95 northbound at the 112.5 mile marker in Caroline County.
The crash occurred when the left rear tire blew out of a 2000 Dodge Durango. The driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off the left side of the roadway overturning and coming to rest on its roof in the center median.
The driver, Guadalupe M. Urrutia, 31, of Sanford, N.C., and her three children who were 4, 7 and 11 years-of-age, were wearing their safety belts and properly secured in a child safety seat. The occupants suffered minor injuries in the crash and were assessed at the scene by Emergency Medical Technicians. No one was transported to the hospital.
