Sheriff’s report

  • On March 15, 2011, Deputy M.J. O’Connor responded to a reported fight.  Upon further investigation, a 17 year old male juvenile had petitions obtained against him for malicious wounding, concealed weapon, and underage possession of alcohol.  He was held without bond and has a March 15, 2011 court date.
  • On March 15, 2011, Sgt. C.A. Heywood conducted a routine traffic stop. Upon further investigation, Thomas B. Brown, 39, of Ruther Glen, was charged with driving revoked.  He was released on a personal recognizance bond and has a March 23, 2011 court date.
  • On March 15, 2011, Sgt. C.A. Heywood responded to a trespassing call in the Woodford area.  Upon further investigation, Charles E. Smith;III, 32, of Woodford, was charged with driving under the influence – 3rd in 5 years.  Smith was also wanted for three outstanding warrants.  He was held without bond and has a March 16, 2011 court date.
  • On March 18, 2011, Sgt. C.A. Heywood responded to a disturbance call in the Ruther Glen area.  Upon further investigation, Ronald R. Redden;Jr., 23, of Mineral, VA, was charged with being drunk in public.  He was held on an unsecured bond and has an April 20, 2011 court date.
  • On March 18, 2011, Deputy C.J. Ryan conducted a routine traffic stop.  Upon further investigation, Steve M. Linkous;Jr., 41, of Ruther Glen, was charged with driving under the influence.  He was held on a $4,000 secured bond and has a March 18, 2011 court date.
  • On March 18, 2011, Sgt. C.A. Heywood responded to a suspicious person call.  Upon further investigation, Jerry B. Adams, 54, of Ruther Glen, was charged with arson and being drunk in public.  He was held without bond and has a March 21, 2011 court date.
  • On March 19, 2011, Sgt. C.A. Heywood conducted a routine traffic stop.  Upon further investigation, Shakeia M. Davidson, 25, of Richmond, was charged with driving suspended.  She was held on a $2,000 secured bond and has a March 25, 2011 court date.
  • On March 20, 2011, Sgt. C.A. Heywood encountered Walter L. Martin;Sr., 45, of Milford.  Upon further investigation, he was charged with being drunk in public.  He was held on an unsecured bond and has an April 20, 2011 court date.

Caroline County Sheriff’s Office Wrap Up

According to Sheriff Tony Lippa, Caroline Deputies made 5 drug arrests, 2 DUI arrests, 3 domestic violence arrests, 71 other criminal arrests and issued 8 animal control summons or arrests during the past week.  The deputies served 208 civil papers, issued 147 traffic summonses, handled 18 motor vehicle crashes, responded to 15 alarm calls, and dealt with 0 juvenile offenders.  The Sheriff’s Office Communications Center dispatched 488 calls for service and handled 1,807 telephone inquiries.  The CCSO also logged 28 calls assisting outside agencies and had 488 self-initiated calls.

From recent Fredericksburg police reports:

Timothy Burrell, 39, of Ruther Glen was arrested for driving while revoked and providing false

information to law enforcement to avoid arrest.

Scott Jacques, 27, of Ruther Glen was arrested for domestic assault and battery, public

intoxication, and preventing a person from calling 911.

Jenna Queen, 26, of Ruther Glen was arrested on a capias from Fredericksburg, Stafford County and a felony warrant from Prince William County for larceny.

HIT AND RUN: 1400-block William Street, 3/7 6:30 pm. Officers responded to the area for a report of a single vehicle accident involving a utility pole. The vehicle owner stated that he was not paying attention and hit the pole. Several witnesses stated they observed the vehicle being driven in a reckless manner when it lost control and that the driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot after the accident. Officers were able to identify the driver as Robert Haley, Jr., 27, of Milford but were not able to locate him. The vehicle owner, Michael Mcmillion, 21, of Spotsylvania was charged with allowing a suspended driver to operate a vehicle. Warrants were obtained on Robert Haley, Jr., for reckless driving, driving while revoked and hit and run and are still pending service.
