Police identify the second body found in Woodford

The Caroline County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the man found dead on Feb. 17 in Woodford .

George William Godfrey, 57, was found dead, along with his girlfriend Dena Woolfolk, 47,  around 10:15 a.m. that day at a home at 14110 Fredericksburg Turnpike.

Sheriff Tony Lippa said dispatchers received a 911 hang-up call around 10:15 that morning.

When police arrived around 10:20 a.m., they found the bodies of two people, who police said were in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. An elderly woman who owned the home was also there.

The bodies were sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Richmond to determine a cause of death, he said. Those results have not been completed yet.

There did not appear to be any trauma to the bodies, police said, and no foul play is suspected.

The case is still under investigation

Another sad day in our local area. What is wrong with the world?

  • Mike

This is what’s wrong with the world: People who jump to conclusions and assume that foul play is suspected when the article clearly states that foul play is not suspected. It also notes that the autopsies haven’t been finished. People just want to assume that the world is evil. Maybe it was carbon monoxide poisoning and the elderly person had her window open and survived. It could’ve happened. No one knows. Let the investigation take its course before declaring that the whole world is wrong.

No foul play? Maybe they both simply dropped dead at the exact same time, when they were together, in the same spot. I have never heard of a case of dual normal sudden death like that, but this could be the first.

  • You Think

that maybe there was possibly a carbon monoxide problem in the house..My understanding is that the older woman that lives there is on home oxygen.. why does it always have to jump to the negative..

  • Anywho

    Drugs?
