Sheriff’s report

  • On January 4, 2011, Deputy R.J. Anderson investigated an assault call in the Milford area.  Upon further investigation, a juvenile petition for assault was obtained for a female juvenile.  A court date is pending.
  • On February 06, 2011, Deputy J.K. Miller responded to a disturbance in the Ruther Glen area.  Upon further investigation, Malcolm R. Collins, 54, of Myrtle Beach, SC, was charged with being drunk in public.  He was released on a personal recognizance bond and has a March 11, 2011 court date.
  • On February 06, 2011, Deputy F.L. Brennan conducted a routine traffic stop.  Upon further investigation, Derrick S. Simms, 51, of Ruther Glen, was charged with driving while intoxicated.  He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and has a February 16, 2011 court date.
  • On February 7, 2011, Deputy B.J. Sadler conducted a routine traffic stop. Upon further investigation, John R. Brown, 22, of Bowling Green, was charged with possession of stolen property and possession of marijuana.   He was held on a $2,000 secured bond and has a February 11, 2011 court date.
  • On February 7, 2011, Deputy K.H. Eichenmiller responded to a shoplifting call in the Ruther Glen area.  Upon further investigation, Mark E. Powell, 51, of Woodford, was charged with shoplifting and being drunk in public.  He was held on a $4,000 secured bond and has a February 9, 2011 court date.
  • On February 10, 2011, Investigator B. L. Fedder charged Jessica L. Parker, 19, of Bowling Green, with grand larceny of a firearm. She was released on a $2,500 personal recognizance bond and has a February 16, 2011 court date.
  • On February 8, 2011, Deputy C.S. Wooldridge responded to a shoplifting call in the Ruther Glen area. Upon further investigation, Phillip G. Morrison, 37, of Shelby, NC, was charged with shoplifting and petit larceny.  He was released on a personal recognizance bond and has a February 18, 2011 court date.
  • On February 9, 2011, Deputy R. J. Anderson responded to a fight in the Ruther Glen area.  Upon further investigation, petitions for assault and disorderly conduct were obtained for a female juvenile and a petition for disorderly conduct was obtained for a second female juvenile.  Both juveniles have pending court dates.

  • On February 9, 2011, Sergeant K.W. Mundy responded to an assault call in the Ruther Glen area.  Upon further investigation, Zachary R. Bartley, 25, of Corbin, was charged with domestic assault. He was held on a $1,500 secured bond and has a February 15, 2011court date.
  • On February 10, 2011, Deputy R.L. Hixson conducted a routine traffic stop.  Upon further investigation, Terrell W. Day, 46, of Pasadena, MD, was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving suspended 3rd offense, and speeding.  He was held on a $1,500 secured bond and has a February 16, 2011 court date.
  • On February 10, 2011, Deputy C.M. Hall responded to a fight in the Woodford area.  Upon further investigation, it was determined that a female juvenile had assaulted another female juvenile.  Petitions and a court date are pending.
  • On February 11, 2011, Sergeant. C.A. Heywood conducted a routine traffic stop.  Upon further investigation, Todd P. Fortune, 23, of Ruther Glen, was charged with driving while intoxicated with child, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was held on an unsecured bond and has a February 23, 2011 court date.   A juvenile passenger was charged with being drunk in public and was released to his parents.
  • On February 11, 2011, Deputy F.L. Brennan encountered Stacy J. Foxx, 30, of Ruther Glen.  Upon further investigation, he was charged with having a fictitious registration.  He was held on a $3,500 secured bond and has a February 23, 2011 court date.

Caroline County Sheriff’s Office Wrap Up

According to Sheriff Tony Lippa, Caroline Deputies made 5 drug arrests, 3 DUI arrests, 8 domestic violence arrests, 115 other criminal arrests and issued 23 animal control summons or arrests during the past week.  The deputies served 161 civil papers, issued 240 traffic summonses, handled 6 motor vehicle crashes, responded to 10 alarm calls, and dealt with 5 juvenile offenders.  The Sheriff’s Office Communications Center dispatched 594 calls for service and handled 1,646 telephone inquiries.  The CCSO also logged 31 calls assisting outside agencies and had 555 self-initiated calls.

  • On February 15, 2011, Deputy R.J. Anderson charged a male juvenile with underage possession of tobacco.  A court date is pending.
  • On February 15, 2011, Deputy W.M. Jones responded to a disturbance call.  Upon further investigation, Casey L. Spostso, 30, of Fredericksburg, was charged with being drunk in public.  He was released on a personal recognizance bond and has a March 28, 2011 court date.
  • On February 15, 2011, Sergeant C.A. Heywood conducted a routine traffic stop.  Upon further investigation, Mendez Martinez-Geovany, 26, of Warsaw, was charged with driving without a valid operator’s license and for defective equipment.  He was held on a $500 secured bond and has a February 23, 2011 court date.
  • On February 15, 2011, Deputy J.K. Miller responded to a report of threats being made. Upon further investigation, Michael S. Wingfield, 39, of Ruther Glen, was charged with making threats in writing.   He was held on a $5,000 secured bond and has a February 18, 2011 court date.
  • On February 17, 2011, Deputy F.L. Brennan encountered Marvin C. Burrell, 33, of Fredericksburg.  Upon further investigation, he was charged with petit larceny.  He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and has a February 18, 2011 court date.
  • On February 17, 2011, Deputy B.J. Sadler conducted a routine traffic stop.  Upon further investigation, James Gasque;III, 40, of Baltimore, MD with driving revoked. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and has a pending court date.
  • On February 17, 2011, Deputy J.K. Miller responded to a shoplifting call in the Bowling Green area. Upon further investigation, Jessica L. Parker, 19, of Bowling Green, was charged with shoplifting.  She was released on a summons and has a March 02, 2011 court date.
  • On February 18, 2011, Deputy S.L Chapman responded to a disturbance call in the Ruther Glen area.  Upon further investigation, Eloise Johnson, 66, of Ruther Glen, was charged with being drunk in public.  She was released on a personal recognizance bond and has a March 11, 2011 court date.
  • On February 18, 2011, Sergeant C.A. Heywood responded to assist with a disturbance call in the Ruther Glen area.  Upon further investigation, Robert O. Brown, 57, of Ruther Glen, was charged with driving while intoxicated.  He was held on a $2,500 unsecured bond and has a March 2, 2011 court date.
  • On February 19, 2011, Deputy J.O. Cecil conducted a routine traffic stop.  Upon further investigation, the driver, Jamaine T. Brown, 23, of Ruther Glen, was charged with driving suspended.  A passenger in the car, Jovan P. Cobb, 21, of Ruther Glen, was charged with possession of marijuana.  Both men were released on summonses and have a February 25, 2011 court date.

Caroline County Sheriff’s Office Wrap Up

According to Sheriff Tony Lippa, Caroline Deputies made 4 drug arrests, 2 DUI arrests, 5 domestic violence arrests, 81 other criminal arrests and issued 2 animal control summons or arrests during the past week.  The deputies served 265 civil papers, issued 235 traffic summonses, handled 22 motor vehicle crashes, responded to 25 alarm calls, and dealt with 2 juvenile offenders.  The Sheriff’s Office Communications Center dispatched 597 calls for service and handled 1,940 telephone inquiries.  The CCSO also logged 29 calls assisting outside agencies and had 617 self-initiated calls.
