Sheriff’s report

  • On November 22, 2010, Deputy W.M. Jones responded to the Ruther Glen area for a reported breaking and entering in progress.  Upon further investigation, Sylvia J. Fordham, 54, of Fredericksburg, was charged with breaking and entering, trespassing, and being drunk in public. Warrants were also obtained, but yet to be served, for a second subject, Walter E. Trantham;III for trespassing and breaking and entering.  Fordham was held on a $2,500 secured bond and a November 23, 2010 court date was set.
  • On November 22, 2010, Sgt. C.A. Heywood responded to a report of a suspicious person in the Bowling Green area.  Upon further investigation, Brian L. Verne, 32, of Bowling Green, was charged with violating a protective order and being drunk in public.  He was held without bond and has a November 23, 2010 court date.
  • On November 22, 2010, Sgt. C.A. Heywood responded to call for service in the Ruther Glen area.  Upon further investigation, Robert A. Smith, 41, of Ruther Glen, was charged with violating a protective order and being drunk in public.  He was held without bond and has a November 23, 2010 court date.
  • On November 23, 2010, Deputy S. L. Chapman responded to the Ruther Glen area for a reported disturbance. Upon further investigation, William T. Simmons, 60, no fixed address, was charged with being drunk in public.  He was released on a personal recognizance bond and has a January 14, 2011 court date.
  • On November 24, 2010, Deputy K.H. Eichenmiller responded to the area of A.P. Hill Blvd for a report of a drunk driver.  Upon further investigation, John W. Allen, 30, of La Plata, MD, was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and driving while not licensed.  He was held on a $2,000 secured bond and has a December 01, 2010 court date.
  • On November 27, 2010, Deputy S. L. Chapman responded to the Ruther Glen area to do a routing property check.  Upon further investigation, William T. Simmons, 60, no fixed address, was charged with breaking and entering, unlawful entry, and possessing illegal alcohol.  He was held without bond and has a November 30, 2010 court date.

Caroline County Sheriff’s Office Wrap Up

According to Sheriff Tony Lippa, Caroline Deputies made 2 drug arrest, 1 DUI arrests, 9 domestic violence arrests, 78 other criminal arrests and issued 92 animal control summons or arrests during the past week.  The deputies served 132 civil papers, issued 275 traffic summonses, handled 11 motor vehicle crashes, responded to 16 alarm calls, and dealt with 0 juvenile offenders. The Sheriff’s Office Communications Center dispatched 626 calls for service and handled 1,496 telephone inquiries.  The CCSO also logged 28 calls assisting outside agencies and had 397 self-initiated calls.

From recent Fredericksburg police reports:

Dayveon Washington, 25, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a warrant from Caroline charging him with failure to appear in court.

Antonio Washington, 19, of Ruther Glen was arrested for possession of marijuana.
