Sheriff’s report

  • On November 14, 2010, Deputy M.J. O’Conner responded to the Beaverdam area for a reported intoxicated person in the roadway.  Upon further investigation, Ryann K. Taylor, 18, of Beaverdam, was charged with possession of marijuana. She was held on a secured bond and a November 15, 2010 court date was set.
  • On November 16, 2010, Deputy B.N. Doucet responded to a shoplifting call the Ruther Glen area.  Upon further investigation, Richard J. Thomas, 28, of Woodford, was charged with grand larceny and being drunk in public.  He was held on a $3,500 secured bond and has a December 01, 2010 court date.
  • On November 17, 2010, Deputy J.K. Miller responded to a civil dispute in the Bowling Green area.  Upon further investigation, Kenneth V. Fickes, 43, of Bowling Green, was charged with being drunk in public.  He was released on a personal recognizance bond and has a December 03, 2010 court date
  • On November 17, 2010, Sgt. C.A. Heywood stopped a bicycle for a traffic infraction. Upon further investigation, Tyrone G. Childs, 47, of Bowling Green, was charged with being drunk in public, reckless driving, and operating a bicycle without a headlight when required.  He was released on a personal recognizance bond and has a January 28, 2011 court date.
  • On November 18, 2010, Sgt. S.L. Cary encountered George W. Minor Jr., 58, of Bumpass. Upon further investigation, he was charged with possession of marijuana.  He was released on a summons and has a December 01, 2010 court date.
  • On November 18, 2010, Deputy J.K. Miller stopped Michael C. Lewis, 21, of Fredericksburg for a traffic infraction.  Upon further investigation, he was charged with drinking while driving and possession of marijuana.  He was released on summonses and has a December 08, 2010 court date.
  • On November 18, 2010, Sgt. C.L. Rozell encountered Michael D. Martin, 37, of Fredericksburg.  Upon further investigation, he was charged with possession of Marijuana.  He was released on a summons and has a December 01, 2010 court date.
  • On November 20, 2010, Deputy C.S. Wooldridge responded to a disturbance call in the Bowling Green area.  Upon further investigation, Quintae R. Redd, 18, of Bowling Green, was charged with assault.  Also involved in the incident was a female juvenile who was charged with three counts of assaulting a police officer.  Redd was released on a personal recognizance bond with a December 01, 2010 court date.   Petitions and a detention order were obtained for the juvenile.
  • On November 20, 2010, Deputy K.H. Eichenmiller responded to a stalking complaint.  Upon further investigation, Herbert J. Oates, 33, of Ruther Glen, was charged with stalking.   He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and has a December 01, 2010 court date.
  • On November 20, 2010, Sgt. K.W. Mundy investigated a spotlighting complaint in the Milford area.  Upon further investigation, Wilmer L. Ortiz, 32, of Hyattsville MD, Elder H. Ortiz, 35, of Riverdale, MD, Rufino A. Rodriguez, 39, of Hyattsville, MD, Emelvin E. Soto, 29, of Hyattsville, Md, Marvin Caldron E. Lieva, 29, of Richmond, and Netfali Dubon, 32, of Champlain, VA, were charged with spotlighting.  W.L. Ortiz was also charged with shooting wildlife from a vehicle and trespassing.  All six were released on a personal recognizance bond and have a January, 19, 2011 court date.

Caroline County Sheriff’s Office Wrap Up

According to Sheriff Tony Lippa, Caroline Deputies made 8 drug arrest, 0 DUI arrests, 10 domestic violence arrests, 74 other criminal arrests and issued 20 animal control summons or arrests during the past week.  The deputies served 235 civil papers, issued 279 traffic summonses, handled 8 motor vehicle crashes, responded to 10 alarm calls, and dealt with 12 juvenile offenders.  The Sheriff’s Office Communications Center dispatched 674 calls for service and handled 1,541 telephone inquiries.  The CCSO also logged 34 calls assisting outside agencies and had 390 self-initiated calls.
