Sheriff’s report

  • On November 10, 2010, Sgt. C.A. Heywood stopped Andre J. Harris, 27 of Warrenton, NC, for a traffic infraction.  Upon further investigation, it was determined that he was wanted in another jurisdiction on a capias for failure to appear.  He was also charged with driving suspended 2nd offense, illegal tint, and illegal use of radar detector. Additionally, Deputy C.S. Wooldridge charged the passenger, Yahcor R. Napper, 21, of Mays Landing, NJ, with felonious transportation of a firearm. Both subjects were held without bond and a November 15, 2010 court date was set.
  • On November 11, 2010, Deputy F.L. Brenan stopped Tantham E. Walter;III, 59, of Ruther Glen for a traffic infraction.  Upon further investigation, it was determined that he was wanted in another jurisdiction on a capias for failure to appear.  He was also charged with driving under the influence, driving suspended, operating an uninsured vehicle, defective equipment, and expired registration.  He was held without bond and has a November 12, 2010 court date.
  • On November 11, 2010, School Resource Office Deputy R.J. Anderson responded to a call for service concerning an assault.  Upon further investigation, it was determined that a 14 year old male assaulted a 17 year old male.  A Juvenile Petition for assault is being obtained from Juvenile Intake.
  • On November 11, 2010, School Resource Office Deputy R.J. Anderson responded to a call for service concerning an assault.  Upon further investigation, it was determined that a 17 year old female assaulted another 17 year old female.  A Juvenile Petition for assault is being obtained from Juvenile Intake.
  • On November 12, 2010, Deputy C.A. Rozell responded to a vehicle crash in the Ruther Glen area.  Upon further investigation, Troy A. Keller, 41, of Ruther Glen, was charged with driving under the influence 2nd offence.  He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond and a November 17, 2010 court date was set.
  • On November 13, 2010, Sgt. C.A. Heywood encountered Mitchel T. Moreno, 49, of Ruther Glen following an anonymous tip of possible criminal activity. Upon further investigation, he was charged with aiding prostitution, keeping a bawdy place, drunk in public, and drinking in public.  He was held on $1,500 secured bond and has a December 01, 2010 court date.
  • On November 13, 2010, Deputy K.L. Chatman, upon investigation of criminal activity, charged Keith A. Seabolt, 18, of Ruther Glen, with credit card fraud and identity theft.  He was held without bond and has a November 15, 2010 court date
  • On November 13, 2010, Deputy S.L. Chapman responded to a domestic assault call in the Bowling Green area.  Upon further investigation, Jamal M. Johnson, 39, of Milford, was charged with abduction, domestic assault, and preventing the use of a phone in summoning of law enforcement.

Caroline County Sheriff’s Office Wrap Up

According to Sheriff Tony Lippa, Caroline Deputies made 4 drug arrest, 2 DUI arrests, 1 domestic violence arrests, 66 other criminal arrests and issued 1 animal control summons or arrests during the past week.  The deputies served 186 civil papers, issued 210 traffic summonses, handled 11 motor vehicle crashes, responded to 12 alarm calls, and dealt with 3 juvenile offenders.  The Sheriff’s Office Communications Center dispatched 672 calls for service and handled 1,677 telephone inquiries.  The CCSO also logged 21 calls assisting outside agencies and had 672 self-initiated calls.
