Spotsy man charged in Caroline Pines burglary

A Spotsylvania County man is facing several charges after a daytime burglary in Caroline County.
According to Caroline Sheriff Tony Lippa, deputies received a report of a home burglary in the Caroline Pines subdivision in Ruther Glen Thursday afternoon.
The victim reported that several flat screen televisions, video gaming systems, a laptop computer and numerous clothing items.
A citizen tip provided deputies with a possible suspect and location of the stolen property, Lippa said.
As a result, the Caroline Sheriff’s Office and the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office conducted a joint undercover investigation in which Spotsylvania detectives purchased a stolen gaming system from from the suspected burglar, Lippa said.
A search warrant was later executed at the seller’s home in Spotsylvania where the stolen items were found along with about $500 worth of suspected crack cocaine, Lippa said.
William James Parr, 22, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering, grand larceny and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
He is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.
An Arraignment will be held Wednesday in Caroline General District Court at 8:30 a.m.
