Jamboree surplus sale this weekend
Sale Slated August 28
The Boy Scouts of America will hold its post-Jamboree sale for the public on Saturday, Aug. 28 at Fort A.P. Hill.
The sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the area of Tater Trail and Lee Drive. The public is to enter the Fort A.P. Hill gates off U.S. 301.
All military families will get early access on Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Cash is preferred as credit card machines may not be available, said Brenda Boudreau of BSA.
Some of the items on sale will include bicycles, canoes, kayaks, etc., she said.
Jamboree officials are still determining what other items will be for sale and will release additional information as it becomes available.
To enter the Army post, you will need to bring a photo ID, automobile registration and proof of automobile insurance.
The post-Jamboree sale has been a tradition since the first Jamboree was held at Fort A.P. Hill in 1981. BSA has selected a site in Fayette County, WV for future Jamborees.
