Caroline County had an unemployment rate of 10.1% in March.
The region as a whole had lower unemployment in April, a traditional start of the construction season. Hires by the Census Bureau may also have contributed to lower unemployment.

King George County shrank its unemployment to 8%.
Stafford and Spotsylvania enjoys the least unemployment at 5.4% and 5.6% respectively, though their rate of decrease was smaller than the other communities in the region.
The National unemployment rate also declined to 9.5% as did Virginia’s to 6.7%. Arlington enjoyed the lowest unemployment in Virginia with 4% while Martinsville continues to suffer the highest unemployment in the Commonwealth with 21.7% of its work force idle.
