Family searching for missing Caroline woman
UPDATE: Lisa Nicole Stone has been found and she is safe.
Lisa Nicole Stone went to visit her parents in Reston last week after her father had eye surgery.
The 43-year-old Caroline County woman left Reston on Friday and stopped by the Target store in Stafford Market Place to pick up a few items around 1 p.m..
She called her husband, Mike, around 2 p.m. that day to say she was on her way back.
She called her father around 3:30 p.m. to say she was close to home.
Stone hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
Mike Stone, who has been married to Lisa for 16 years, said she was in good spirits when he last spoke with her and he said it is unlike her to just vanish.
“I don’t know what to think,” he said this afternoon. “I’m at a loss. We haven’t been having any problems and she wouldn’t have turned her back on our [13-year-old] son.”
He said she had a car full of groceries and had stopped by Target to buy some blank CDs for their son for Christmas. They were planning to put up a tree and clean the house this week because they were expecting company this weekend.
“There’s nothing that would have stopped her from coming home,” he said.
Lisa, who recently testified in a rape case in Caroline, is on medication and doesn’t have it with her.
Since she was last seen in Stafford on a video tape in Target, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation into her disappearance.
“Her family members have heard nothing from her, we’ve heard nothing and we’re really concerned,” said Stafford Sheriff’s Office spokesman Bill Kennedy.
Lisa Stone was last seen driving a silver 4-door Acura TL with plate number XVU-3906.
She was last seen wearing a blue and gray hooded Disney coat and sweat pants. She is described as a white female, 5’7” tall and 150 lbs. She has brown hair and hazel eyes.
