On December 6, 2009, Deputy D. W. Mundie responded to a domestic in Ruther Glen. After investigating, Dennis K. Terry, 55, of Ruther Glen was charged with domestic assault and brandishing a firearm. He was ordered held under a $2500 bond and a court date of December 10, 2009 was set.
On December 7, 2009, Deputies J. K. Miller and T. P. Connolly attempted to serve warrants on a subject in Carmel Church. After investigating, Dorathie L. Kratzer, 23, of Moravia, NY was charged with obstruction of justice. She was released on a personal recognizance bond and a court date of December 16, 2009 was set.
On December 8, 2009, Deputy R. J. Anderson received a report of an assault occurring on a school bus. After investigating, 2 juveniles were charged with assault. Petitions were obtained on both and they were released to their parents.
On December 8, 2009, Sergeant S. L. Cary stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction. After investigating, a male juvenile was charged with underage possession of tobacco and possession of marijuana. Petitions were obtained and the juvenile was released to his parents.
On December 10, 2009, Deputy C. A. Heywood responded to a reported trespasser in Sparta. After investigating, Tammy L. Martin, 33, of Ruther Glen was charged with disorderly conduct. She was released on a personal recognizance bond and a court date of December 18, 2009 was set.
On December 11, 2009, Deputy P. H. Blasiol stopped a vehicle in Ruther Glen for a traffic infraction. After investigating, Charles K. Swisher, 53, of Spotsylvania was charged with driving under the influence. He was ordered held under a $1500 bond and a court date of December 16, 2009 was set.

According to Sheriff Tony Lippa, Caroline Deputies made 11 drug arrests, 2 DUI arrest, 6 domestic violence arrests, 192 other criminal arrests and issued 5 animal control summons or arrests during the past week. The deputies served 245 civil papers, issued 32 traffic summonses, handled 14 motor vehicle crashes, responded to 17 alarm calls, and dealt with 8 juvenile offenders. The Sheriff’s Office Communications Center dispatched 398 calls for service and handled 1,767 telephone inquiries. The CCSO also logged 33 calls assisting outside agencies and had 283 self-initiated calls.
