Sheriff’s report

On August 16, 2009, Deputy C. M. Polliard responded to a call for service at a residence in Ruther Glen.  After investigating, Timothy J. Sargent, 50, of Ruther Glen was charged with being disorderly in public and impeding a law enforcement officer by threats.  He was ordered held without bond and a court date of August 19, 2009 was set. 

On August 16, 2009, Deputy F. L. Brennan responded to a suspicious person call in Woodford.  After investigating, Matthew C. Riley, 25, of Woodford was charged with being drunk in public.  He was released on a personal recognizance bond and a court date of September 16, 2009 was set. 

On August 17, 2009, Deputy B. N. Doucet responded to a reported fight in Ruther Glen.  After investigating, Sharon B. Carter, 42, of Ruther Glen was charged with assault.  She was released on a personal recognizance bond and a court date of August 26, 2009 was set. 

On August 18, 2009, Deputy W. D. stopped a vehicle in Dawn for a traffic infraction.  After investigating, Michael B. Harris, 24, of Ruther Glen was charged with Driving under the influence – 2nd offense and driving on a revoked drivers license.  He was ordered held under a $2500 bond and a court date of September 4, 2009 was set.   

On August 19, 2009, Deputy W. D. Lipscomb stopped a vehicle in Ruther Glen for a traffic infraction.  After investigating, Milton Jackson, Jr., 55, of Ruther Glen was charged with driving on a revoked license, driving under the influence – 2nd offense and refusing to submit to a breath test – 2nd offense.  He was ordered held without bond and a court date of September 4, 2009 was set. 

On August 20, 2009, Deputy F. L. Brennan was working a checking detail when she encountered a vehicle.  After investigating, Christopher A. Thomas, 25, of Spotsylvania was charged with possession of marijuana, drinking while driving and driving on a suspended license.  Richard F. Thomas, 46, of Spotsylvania was charged with possession of marijuana, drinking in public and allowing an unlicensed person to operate a motor vehicle.  Both were released on summonses and a court date of October 14, 2009 was set. 

On August 21, 2009, Deputy W. D. Lipscomb stopped a vehicle in Ruther Glen for a traffic infraction.  After investigating, Robert W. Nelson, 62, of Mechanicsville was charged with driving under the influence.  He was released on a personal recognizance bond and a court date of September 4, 2009 was set. 

Caroline County Sheriff’s Office Wrap Up

 

According to Sheriff Tony Lippa, Caroline Deputies made 3 drug arrests, 4 DUI arrests, 9 domestic violence arrests, 153 other criminal arrests and issued 0 animal control summons or arrests during the past week.  The deputies served 257 civil papers, issued 197 traffic summonses, handled 9 motor vehicle crashes, responded to 29 alarm calls, and dealt with 6 juvenile offenders.  The Sheriff’s Office Communications Center dispatched 505 calls for service and handled 1,789 telephone inquiries.  The CCSO also logged 30 calls assisting outside agencies and had 227 self-initiated calls. 

From recent Fredericksburg police reports:

Sherry Jones, 54, of Woodford was arrested on a warrant from Westmoreland County charging

her with failure to pay taxes.

Christina Lloyd, 43, of Milford was arrested for trespassing.
