1. SPEX-05-2009 – HAT, LLC, Owner; Virginia Sports Complex, Applicant:  Request an amendment to a Special Exception Permit in accordance with Article XVII and Article IV, Section 5.19 of the Caroline County Zoning Ordinance, on tax map #67-A-58, consisting of 110.9 acres, more or less, zoned RP, Rural Preservation (with a density of one dwelling unit per ten acres of land).  This property is located off of Route 601 (Cedar Fork Road) and Route 1 (Richmond Turnpike), approximately ½ mile west of Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway), Mattaponi Voting District.  Proposed Use:  An amendment of a previously approved special exception permit (SPEX-05-2002), specifically to amend condition #1 – to host other events using their 40,000 square foot indoor facility; to amend condition #14 to allow sporting events, other than baseball related events, in the indoor facility, and to amend condition #15 to allow the sale of alcohol at special events in their indoor facility.  The 2006 – 2026 Comprehensive Plan identifies this area as rural preservation with a density of one dwelling unit per ten acres of land.  (Angeline Pitts)
