On March 22 2009, Deputy T. P. Connolly and C. S. Wooldridge responded to a domestic in Ruther Glen. After investigating, Darrell B. Wright, 41, of Ruther Glen was charged with malicious wounding, domestic assault, assault and battery, possession of marijuana and being drunk in public. He was ordered held without bond and a court date of April 24, 2009 was set.
On March 22, 2009, Deputy C. A. Heywood encountered several subjects in Ruther Glen. After investigating, Richard M. Wood, 41; Ricky E. Berry, 40; and Thomas R. Childrey, 18; were all charged with trespassing and released on summonses. Kenneth W. Derricott, 51 and William T. Simmons, 58 were both charged with being drunk in public at the same location. They were released on a personal recognizance bond and the court date for all was set on May 27, 2009.
On March 22, 2009, Deputy J. K. Miller and G. J. Hamilton stopped a vehicle for a traiffc infraction. After investigating, Oliver E. Smith, 26, of McLean was charged with driving on a suspended license – 14th offense. He was ordered held without bond. Brian J. Aucoin, 42, also of McLean was charged with allowing an unlicensed person to drive and with being drunk in public. He was released on a personal recognizance bond and a court date of April 1, 2009 was set for both.
On March 24, 2009, Donnie L. Poindexter, 46, of Ruther Glen, was arrested for indecent exposure that occurred on or about March 19, 2009. This incident was being investigated by Deputy F. L. Brennan. Poindexter was being held without bond and a May 1, 2009 trial date has been set.
On March 26, 2009, Samantha Bako, 26, of Ruther Glen was charged with embezzlement of goods having a value of $200 or more. This incident was investigated by Deputy F. L. Brennan. Bako was released on a personal recognizance bond pending trial on May 29, 2009.
On March 29, 2009, Deputy D. W. Mundie stopped a vehicle for reckless driving speed. Upon further investigation, Jarius Marcellous Green, Jr., 59, of McKenney, VA was arrested for driving under the influence, 2nd Offense within 5 years. He was also summonsed for having an open container, and reckless driving speed 84/55 mph zone. An April 1, 2009 court date has been set and he was held on a $1500 secure bond.

According to Sheriff Tony Lippa, Caroline Deputies made 5 drug arrests, 1 DUI arrests, 10 domestic violence arrests, 103 other criminal arrests and issued 4 animal control summons or arrests during the past week. The deputies served 321 civil papers, issued 192 traffic summonses, handled 17 motor vehicle crashes, responded to 17 alarm calls, and dealt with 8 juvenile offenders. The Sheriff’s Office Communications Center dispatched 377 calls for service and handled 1,140 telephone inquiries. The CCSO also logged 33 calls assisting outside agencies and had 171 self-initiated calls.
