Sheriff’s report

On February 15, 2009, Deputy M. J. O’Connor stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction in Ruther Glen.  After investigating, Kelly B. Thornburg, 19, of Mechanicsville was charged with driving under the influence and driving on the wrong side of the roadway.  She was released on a personal recognizance bond and a court date of February 25, 2009 was set.

On February 15, 2009, Deputy W. D. Lipscomb stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction in Ruther Glen.  After investigating, Shantae D. Coleman, 22, of Hanover was charged with driving under the influence.  He was held on a $10000 bond.  A passenger in the car, Faith F. Davis, 26, of Ruther Glen was charged with possession of marijuana and released on a summons.  Both court dates was set on February 15, 2009. 

On February 16, 2009, Sergeant R. L. Hixson stopped a vehicle in Bowling Green for a traffic infraction.  After investigating, Michael P. Morgan, 31, of Fredericksburg was charged with driving on a revoked driver’s license and possession of marijuana.  He was also served with 2 outstanding capiases from Fairfax County.  He was ordered held without bond and a court date was pending.   

On February 17, 2009, Deputy C. A. Heywood responded to a cal for a suspicious person in Ruther Glen.  After investigating, Donnie L. Poindexter, 46, of Ruther Glen was charged with being drunk in public.  He was held on a $1000 bond and a court date of February 18, 2009 was set. 

On February 18, 2009, Deputy R. J. Anderson was attending court.  He encountered a subject in court.  After investigating, Major Wright, Jr. was charged with being drunk in public.  He was released on a personal recognizance bond and a court date of April 3, 2009 was set. 

On February 18, 2009, Deputy R. J. Anderson stopped a vehicle in the Ruther Glen area for a traffic infraction.  After investigating, Richard Jones, Jr., 45, of Woodford was charged with driving under the influence.  He was released on a personal recognizance bond and a court date of February 25, 2009 was set. 

On February 19, 2009, Sergeant K. W. Mundy observed a suspicious subject in Ruther Glen.  After investigating, William H. Cox, age unknown, of Vanceboro, NC was charged with obstruction of justice.  He was ordered held without bond and a court date was to be set. 

On February 19, 2009, Deputy C. A. Heywood stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction.  After investigating, Timothy D. Dennis, 28, of Petersburg was charged with possession of cocaine.  He was ordered held without bond and a court date of February 20, 2009 was set. 

On February 20, 2009, Deputy C. A. Heywood responded to a custody dispute in Sparta.  After investigating, Dawn S. Craddock, 23, of Ruther Glen was charged with failing to obey a custody or visitation order.  She was released on a summons and a court date of April 28, 2009 was set. 

On February 20, 2009, Deputy F. L. Brennan responded to a domestic at a business in Ladysmith.  After investigating, Linda H. Walker, 38, of Ruther Glen was charged with domestic assault.  She was released on a personal recognizance bond and a court date of February 24, 2009 was set. 

On February 20, 2009, Deputy C. M. Garnett responded to a domestic in Port Royal.  After investigating, Robert Myers, Jr., 46, of Port Royal was charged with domestic assault.  Court and bond information were not available. 

On February 21, 2009, Deputy G. J. Hamilton stopped a vehicle in Ruther Glen.  After investigating, Sheryl A. Bailey, 43, of Ruther Glen was charged with driving under the influence – 2nd offense and refusing to submit to a breath test.  She was ordered held under a $1500 bond and a court date of March 6, 2009 was set. 

Caroline County Sheriff’s Office Wrap Up

 

According to Sheriff Tony Lippa, Caroline Deputies made 4 drug arrests, 4 DUI arrests, 9 domestic violence arrests, 57 other criminal arrests and issued 8 animal control summons or arrests during the past week.  The deputies served 241 civil papers, issued 238 traffic summonses, handled 8 motor vehicle crashes, responded to 16 alarm calls, and dealt with 3 juvenile offenders.  The Sheriff’s Office Communications Center dispatched 448 calls for service and handled 1568 telephone inquiries.  The CCSO also logged 21 calls assisting outside agencies and had 212 self-initiated calls.
