Cookout closes on Fredericksburg site

CookOutRestaurantCookout, a North Carolina-based fast-food chain, has finalized the purchase of a $1.25 million property in the Greenbrier Shopping Center for a local restaurant.

The property purchased from Greenbrier Center Associates is located at 2060 Plank Road on a half-acre pad site just east of the M&T Bank branch and Friendly’s restaurant. Big Lots, Jay’s Restaurant, Two Times New, and Taj Indian Cuisine are all located on that end of the center.

The location is one of two Cookout restaurants planned for the region.

The other is planned along U.S. 1 near the Massaponax exit off Interstate 95 on a 1-acre site between a KFC and Steak ‘n Shake.

Cook Out has more than 130 locations throughout the south. The restaurant will be its northernmost location.

The chain’s menu features burgers, corndogs and hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, Carolina-style barbecue, dozens of milkshake flavors and North Carolina-brand soda Cheerwine.
