  • Rappahannock Electric Cooperative has rewarded outstanding student achievement in the communities it serves by providing scholarships to graduating high school seniors. This year 16 students received a $1,000 LEARN Scholarship in recognition of their scholastic achievement and community involvement.
  • Zenith Aviation, an Fredericksburg-based aircraft parts supply and logistics support company, will exhibit at the upcoming Farnborough Air Show, July 14 through 18, in Farnborough, England. The Zenith exhibit will be located in the US Pavilion, Hall 3, Stand A9.
  • Realtor Kimberly Jewell has joined the Fredericksburg office of Virginia CU Realty, a full service real estate company established by Virginia Credit Union to provide a streamlined experience for those seeking to buy or sell a home.
  • Virginia Credit Union will be honored in the annual CIO100 list in “CIO Magazine,” published by the International Data Group. Given to organizations for excellence in information technology, the award will be presented to Chris Saneda, the credit union’s senior vice president and chief information officer. Virginia Credit Union was recognized for an innovative system it developed to analyze data in real time and enable staff to identify and prevent external fraud attempts.
  • The Rappahannock Area Agency on Aging is making a summer push for fundraising to support their community services. Such services include meals for the hungry and homebound, transportation to doctor appointments and shopping, assistance with light housekeeping and daily chores.
  • Aviation Adventures LLC, a flight school based in Northern Virginia, will be expanding its operations to Stafford Regional Airport. A grand opening ceremony will be held there on Saturday, July 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
