Rosner finalizes Bill Britt sale
Bill Britt Mazda and Volkswagen dealerships, on U.S. 1 in the Four-Mile Fork area of Spotsylvania County, have officially changed hands.
Rosner Auto Group finalized the sale and took over management of the company last week, according to Rosner President Clay Huber.
“We’re hoping to bring our policies and procedures to the dealership and build on the 30 years of experience Bill Britt has in the community,” Huber said.
He also hopes to add new inventory soon, expanding the selection at both dealerships.
He said when the Britts came to them with an offer to sell the business, the opportunity to add to Rosner Auto Group was too good to pass up.
“Mazda and Volkswagen really round out the selection we offer,” he said.
The deal has been in the works since December, when the auto groups announced that they had agreed to the transfer.
At the time, Bill Britt Jr. said the family felt it was time to sell, and health issues and a desire to spend more times with his family prompted them to sell.
Bill Britt dealerships have been present in the Fredericksburg area since 1980.
Huber said Rosner has added staff, mostly managers, at both locations.
With the Britt purchase, Rosner will now have nine dealerships in the Fredericksburg area, and one in King George County.
Rosner also operates a collision center.
The first local Rosner dealership opened in 1979 on William Street.
