Two companies, PedalFred and the Fredericksburg Food Tour, will join Fredericksburg’s tourism scene this summer.

As reported earlier, PedalFred was started by local real estate investor Brent Brady and is slated to start in July.

Brady launched Blue & Gray Leisures, LLC, which PedalFred will operate under, this year with a former college friend, John Brumbaugh, who lives in Pennsylvania.

Visitors and residents will board a 16-seat bike at Caroline and Charlotte Streets, opposite the Fredericksburg Visitor Center. Brady said designing the bike took longer than expected, but he hopes to be operating soon.

Brady said he is starting with one vehicle and about 10 employees, and will operate daily.

The Fredericksburg Food Tour, operated by the Food Tour Corporation, is also expected to arrive in town this summer.

The company offers similar tours in multiple destinations, including Old Town Alexandria and Norfolk. According to a Fredericksburg Economic Development and Tourism newsletter, the Fredericksburg tour will be a fully guided culinary sojourn downtown, combining a walking tour of the area’s history, architecture and culture, and the opportunity to sample food from area restaurants.

These companies join Fredericksburg’s popular trolley and horse-drawn carriage tours as ways to tour the town.
