Company buys downtown Fredericksburg building

A company that offers marketing, public relations and multimedia services has purchased a building in downtown Fredericksburg for its new local office.

A limited liability company affiliated with Agency MABU (Marketing & Advertising Business Unlimited Inc.) on Friday bought the 2,500-square-foot building at 905 Barton St. for $410,000.

The three-plus-story structure was built in 2012 and is near LibertyTown Arts Workshop and Maury Commons. It had been marketed for use as either a personal residence or office.

Agency MABU has a lease on about 1,100 square feet at 305 Hanson Ave. in Fredericksburg through June, said Executive Vice President Alexander Mabin. The company, which recently has been working with the Fredericksburg Country Club on focus groups and a new website, will use the next couple of months to set up the new office and plans to move by late May.

“We’re excited to relocate to the downtown area, and this purchase underscores our long-term commitment to serving the Fredericksburg community in the years to come,” Mabin wrote in an email.

Brian Cunningham of Coldwell Banker Commercial Elite and Penny Traber of 1st Choice Better Homes & Land brokered the sale.
