Six retailers sign on for King George Gateway

Six retailers have signed leases to occupy space in a 72,000-square-foot building that will be constructed next to the Walmart store at the King George Gateway development.

Peebles, Petco, Dollar Tree, Famous Footwear, Hibbett Sports and Rappahannock Goodwill Industries will all be opening stores in the new building, said Dimitri Georgelakos of KLNB Retail, who is handling leasing at the development off U.S. 301 in the Dahlgren area. Only about 9,600 square feet of space in the new building is still available.

Construction on the new building is expected to start April 1, and the space should be ready by January for retailers to do their final buildout, Georgelakos said. The new building will be in line and to the right of the Walmart store.

Georgelakos is working on landing other tenants for the remainder of the new building as well as additional retail buildings planned at the shopping center.

Realty Development Services LLC, The Engineering Groupe Inc., Ruhf and Associates, Mullen Inc. and Benchmark Construction are all playing a role in the construction of the new building
