Price reduced on former Renaissance Faire site

The asking price for a 162-acre industrially zoned property off the north side of State Route 3 in Stafford County has been cut in half.

The property, which is about five miles east of Fredericksburg at 1175 Kings Highway, is now on the market for $4.25 million.

The property was once used for the Virginia Renaissance Faire, and the structures from that era are now deteriorating on the property, on which no trespassing is allowed. The site has access to public water and sewer and a CSX rail spur.

The owner of the property, Springfield-based Best Industries Inc., is now operating as a debtor in possession after filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy last year.

The property is listed with Alex Long of Weichert Realtors in Fredericksburg.
