A technology-focused entrepreneur will serve as the University of Mary Washington’s Executive-in-Residence this year.

Matt Ernst, who graduated from the Fredericksburg university in 1994, will visit UMW on Feb. 26-27. He will speak to regional business leaders about the risks and lessons of entrepreneurship and meet with students and alumni in the College of Business.

Ernst is currently chairman of Walnut Grove Holdings LLC, an investment company focused on early-stage technology companies. He previously founded Amentra, a provider of systems integration services, and served as its CEO until shortly after its 2008 sale to Red Hat.

The Executive-in-Residence program, which was established in 1989, is coordinated through the UMW College of Business and the Division of Advancement and University Relations.
