Bank to open Central Park branch

Community Bank of the Chesapeake plans to open its first Fredericksburg full-service branch in July.

The Waldorf, Md.-based bank recently signed a lease to open the branch at 1340 Central Park Blvd., Suite 106, in the Central Park Corporate Center.

The bank already runs a commercial-lending office in a fourth-floor suite at the Central Park Corporate Center. Those lenders will move down to the ground-level space when the branch opens this summer. The new branch will be about 3,300 square feet, said Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer broker Wilson Greenlaw, who worked on the lease.

Community Bank of the Chesapeake also plans to build a 10,000-square-foot, two-story bank branch at 425 William St. in downtown Fredericksburg. The bank is under contract to purchase the surface parking lot from local real estate investor Mike Degen.

The bank plans to start construction on that branch this summer and open it about a year later, at which time it will have two Fredericksburg branches.

Community Bank of the Chesapeake also has a branch in the Dahlgren area of King George County.
