A Fredericksburg-area businessman last month purchased the new Goodyear Auto Service Center property on U.S. 17 in Stafford County.

A limited liability company owned by real estate investor and businessman Danny Payne bought the property, which includes a 6,500-square-foot building and about 1.1 acres, for $3.515 million, according to Stafford property records.

The property is at 250 McWhirt Loop, near the intersection of U.S. 17 and Celebrate Virginia Parkway. The store opened late last year.

Payne’s LLC purchased the property from an affiliate of South Carolina-based McNeel Properties, which previously bought the land from an affiliate of the Silver Cos. Goodyear will now lease the property from Payne’s LLC.

Payne has recently purchased two other properties where auto-care businesses are located — Firestone Auto Care properties at 9600 Jefferson Davis Highway in Spotsylvania County and 7991 Compass Point Lane in Mechanicsville.
