Union First Market Bankshares Corp. on Tuesday announced the eight current StellarOne Corp. board of director members who will join the board of the combined bank after the merger closes on or around Jan. 1.

Keith L. Wampler, Glen C. Combs, Beverley E. Dalton, Gregory L. Fisher, Jan S. Hoover, Alan W. Myers, Raymond D. Smoot Jr. and Charles W. Steger will join the Union corporate board. The existing 11 Union directors will remain in place, so there will be 19 board members going forward.

Remaining members of the current Stellar board will serve on the Union First Market Bank board of directors.

Smoot, the current chairman of the Stellar board, will become chairman of Union’s board of directors. Union’s current chairman, Ronald L. Hicks, will become vice-chairman.

Two Stellar executives were also named to leadership positions in the combined company. David G. Bilko will be the company’s executive vice president and chief risk officer, and Jeffrey W. Farrar will be Union’s executive vice president of wealth management, insurance and mortgage.

Current Stellar President and CEO O. R. Barham Jr. is retiring, and current Union President and CEO G. William “Billy” Beale will remain in his current role after the merger.
