Chinese delegation visits Fredericksburg company

Members of the Chinese delegation tour the M&M Auto plant in Fredericksburg.

A delegation of about 15 people from China’s aviation industry visited a Fredericksburg auto-recycling company Tuesday.

The delegation visited M&M Auto Parts Inc.’s 150,000-square-foot auto-recycling plant at 1351 Belman Road to view how the company does business.

M&M dismantles totaled vehicles that it purchases at auction from insurance companies, and sells the parts to mechanics and body shops. Scrap metal is sold and recycled.

TheĀ Automotive Recyclers Association helped set up the visit, which included a conference-room discussion on how the business works and a tour of the plant.

M&M General Manager Jeff Sowers said the plant has previously been visited by delegations from Brazil and Australia as well as another one from China.
