Cook Out restaurant planned in Fredericksburg

A Cook Out restaurant is planned along State Route 3 in Fredericksburg.

The city’s planning staff is now reviewing a site plan submitted for a 3,200-square-foot Cook Out restaurant with a drive-through in the Greenbrier Shopping Center.

The building is planned at 2060 Plank Road, on a pad site on the east side of the M&T Bank branch.

Cook Out is a privately owned fast-food restaurant chain that started in North Carolina and now has more than 130 locations in North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee. This would be the first location in the Fredericksburg region.

The chain’s menu features cookout-style burgers and hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, North Carolina-style barbecue and dozens of milkshake flavors.
