Goodwill planning King George retail store

Rappahannock Goodwill Industries plans to open a store in the King George Gateway development in late 2014.

Goodwill’s retail store in the growing Dahlgren area of King George County will be the organization’s 12th in the Fredericksburg area.

The Goodwill store will be in a 12,000-square-foot endcap space in a planned new multi-tenant building near the Walmart store at the development off U.S. 301, said Berkley Mitchell, a Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer broker who represented Goodwill on the lease.

Additional national and regional retailers are planned in that new building, but their identities have not yet been revealed. A construction timeline has also not been released.

King George Gateway developer Ed Murphy noted that Goodwill has had a drop-off trailer at the center for two years, which he said has proved the need for a store there.
