Two defense contractors lease space at Quantico Corporate Center

Two defense contractors recently leased a total of about 21,000 square feet of office space at the Quantico Corporate Center off U.S. 1 in North Stafford.

Patricio Enterprises Inc., which already has a separate headquarters building at the development, leased another 12,200 square feet that BAE Systems formerly occupied at 1000 Corporate Drive. The company needed the space after winning new contracts over the past few months, said David Newman, a vice president for the Silver Cos. and senior sales associate for Coldwell Banker Commercial Elite who represented Patricio on the lease.

In August, Stafford’s Board of Supervisors approved nearly $51,000 in technology zone incentives to Patricio, the first such award in that new program.

Trijicon Inc. also recently leased about 8,600 square feet at 925 Corporate Drive. The company will be in space that American Rheinmetall formerly occupied.

Subway and Cookie’s Barber Shop recently opened at the development, and I Luv Teriyaki is expected to open in November. A new Courtyard by Marriott there is also expected to open next month.

Newman said he has been working on adding fiber lines into the development to make it more attractive for future tenants.

The Silver Cos. and other investors are developing the Quantico park, which is now included in the federal government’s HUBZone program. Stafford County recently bought 13 acres at the development for $3.4 million for its technology and research park.
